Video production is what we do. There are a lot of other supporting tasks, but in the end, the Media Group @ Michael's is about producing quality videos at a fair price for our customers in Dayton, Ohio and beyond. We've told you about many of the projects that we work on. But maybe you want to hear about the Media Group from somebody that has worked with us, a client perhaps?

Disclosure: Yes, Michael Schuh Jr. is the CEO of the Media Group @ Michael's, as well as Michael's Salon and Spa. We included Michael because Michael's Salon is our biggest client - and who better to tell you about the Media Group @ Michael's than Michael himself? To see some of the projects the Media Group has completed for Michael's Salon, click here.

RD Holder Oil Company has been a great company to work with. When we taped Bob's testimonial, we obviously thanked him for taking time out of his busy schedule for us. His reply: "I only do this for good people." That means a lot coming from Bob. We've produced commercials, print designs, a kiosk video and more for Bob.

What can the Media Group @ Michael's produce for you?

Magic Castle Television Commercial

Last week the Media Group at Michael's had the pleasure of visiting and working with the fine folks at Rollandia in Dayton, Ohio. We produced spots for both the Golf Center and the Magic Castle. We are in the process of updating the Golf Center commercial, so we'll just show you the Magic Castle spot first:

This was my first visit to Magic Castle, but Michael's has a Christmas party for our employees and their families every year! I was impressed - I overheard several parents' comments during the party and they were all positive: "This pizza is a lot better than [competitor]" and "the host is doing a great job - the kids are having so much fun!"

We love to work with great people like Zachary and Jeff at Rollandia, and love to support fellow locally owned businesses. Thanks to the parents for letting us tape the commercial during your children's special birthday parties!

Have you been to the Magic Castle? Did we capture the fun and excitement of the place?

Basics to Optimizing Your Website with Dayton SCORE

Is your business in the process of developing a website? Do you have a website and still can't get Google to find you? The Media Group is presenting a free workshop next week with Dayton SCORE on just this subject.

"But wait," you may say, "the Media Group doesn't design websites." True, we are not in the business of website development. However, we have been through the long and arduous process of learning website optimization the hard way - many seminars and courses, meetings with so-called experts, and more. We want to share what we have learned to make the process easier for your company. There are many things you can do yourself - for free - to get your site found in organic search results.

How did the Media Group learn to optimize websites? Here's a brief and scaled down case study of our relationship with Michael's Salon:
As many of you know, the Media Group is a partner to Michael's Salon and Spa in Centerville, Ohio. We do many things for Michael's Salon, including design in-salon signage, design and manage eblasts, reach out to customers through Facebook and Twitter, blog, produce weekly how to videos, and more. A majority of the salon's marketing efforts have been in the online realm, and the first step was to redesign the website, michaelssalon.com. The old site was hard to update, and was missing many of the key elements that Google looks for when it renders search results. How does the saying go... if your business doesn't exist on Google then it doesn't exist? When we started, if you searched for 'salon dayton ohio' Michael's Salon came up in the results - on page 16. Do you go 16 pages into Google when searching for a local business? No one does.
After many costly seminars and classes, meetings with "experts" and online research, the Media Group learned a lot about keywords, meta tags, updates, and the like. We took all of this information and applied it to the salon's website - which now shows up on the top of page 1 when you search for 'salon dayton ohio.'
It would take many blog pages to cover all of the information we will present in the seminar, so do yourself a favor and come see us in person!  We will host three workshops through SCORE - the first one is next Wednesday, March 31 from 6:30-8:30pm at the Centerville Washington Township Library. The workshop is free, but registration is required. Visit SCORE's website for registration information. If you can't make it on the 31st, catch a later seminar date - April 21 or June 1.

The Media Group has had a relationship with Dayton SCORE for several years, and it really is a great organization if you are a small business owner, or are thinking about starting a small business. For more information, check out this video we produced for them last year:
